The Ryobi corded electric mower has a 1300W engine, a cutting width of 33cm and a 10m long, orange cable. The padded foam handle offers a choice of three different heights to suit different users and it unscrews halfway down and folds over the body of the machine for easy storage. There’s also a carry handle on top of the mower deck. There are five cutting heights, ranging from 20-60mm and this is simply adjusted with a single lever situated by the front left-hand wheel. The deck has grass combs so the mower cuts right up to the edge of kerbs, fences and walls and a mulching plug is supplied so if you choose not to collect the clippings this will shred them and leave them on the lawn where they will break down, feeding the grass as they do. Otherwise the fabric grass bag has a collecting capacity of 35 litres as well as a full indicator that flaps up when the bag is ready to empty.

The Ryobi mower is straightforward to put together with clear instructions and no extra tools are required. At 9kg the mower is light and it’s easy and smooth to turn and manoeuvre around furniture and borders in the lawn. The foam handle feel comfortable and a double drive lever gives you the choice of mowing with both hands or just one. The height of cut is simple to adjust, it cuts cleanly and well and the grass combs on the deck allow it to cut right to the edge, so there’s no need to go back and tidy up the edges with a grass trimmer after mowing.
The standout feature on this mower however, is the cable relief clip. Keeping an eye on the cable and making sure it’s always out of the way when you’re mowing is one of the most important tasks with an electric corded mower. The cable clip on the Ryobi keeps it tucked to the side and well out of the way, which is a weight off the mind. This combined with the bright orange cable made this mower feel the safest to use.

Is the Ryobi RLM13E 33S electric lawn mower easy to store?

There’s a carry handle to help get this light mower in and out of the shed or garage and the handle
unscrews halfway down and folds over the body of the machine for easy storage if space is limited. If you need it to really compact down you can also slip the handle out of the deck and it will fold down completely flat over the mower. The fabric grass bag also folds down for storing flat on top of the mower so everything can be kept together, out of the way.

This mower has great safety features, is light and easy to use and cuts well. It comes with a three year warranty and at just under £100 we think it’s great value for money.

    Grass Trimmer / Strimmer / Brushcutter

    Supplied with a 2 string nylon cutting head and a 3-tooth metal blade, you can cut through tough weeds, brambles, dense scrub and overgrown grass with ease. The nylon cord is simple to replace, and the bump feed system allows you to effortlessly dispense more cord without interrupting your gardening.
